Idol Thoughts

I don't know what hooked me into this season of American Idol - maybe the demise of our own Idol had me clamoring for the last one on tv (at least, that I can watch on easily on cable - though Indian Idol is some great entertainment on the internet) - but I am an avid viewer.

Speaking of an Indian Idol, I'm all for Anoop Dogg getting through tonight. I was literally freaking that he might not get through last night, but then he did, and then I was calm. Let's ride this Slumdog Millionaire wave out. I'm stoked that Tatianna is back and brought the crazy with her. She was too calm when she competed round one. I want Hollywood Week Tatianna to get through too.

Who else. I like Gabrielle Beauvais/Jasmine and Tattoo-Sleeve Molly (I can't remember her actual name). Hmmm, I can't remember who else is in the top 8 for tonight's Wild Card Show.

Oh yeah. Von Smith, 2 other dudes and I really can't remember the 8th. That's okay. He/she won't make it through. I could google it. But I won't*.
*okay I looked. I still stick by my other choices.

Which Watchmen costume would you like to wear?

Tonight on eTALK: I sit down with Malin Akerman, Patrick Wilson, Carla Gugino, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (the American Javier Bardem) and we discuss their swanky little getups in the Watchmen flick.

Which one do you think suits you best? I think Ozymandius' is the one I'd wear. You know - if the opportunity ever arose.

Riaz paved the way for the new Bachelorette?

And if you like these clips... vote for Riaz and Breakfast Television to win something. I don't know what exactly. But I do know you should vote for Riaz's Anderson Cooper hairstyle at question #17. And you can skip all the radio questions. I did. (Too many categories and options.)

Well The View from that vantage point would certainly be interesting.

eTALK: Malin Ackerman and Rachelle Lefevre

This past weekend I was in Los Angeles doing press interviews for WATCHMEN and was on the arrivals carpet for Film Independent's SPIRIT AWARDS in Santa Monica.

Tonight on eTALK, I have some clips from my interview with Malin Ackerman, who strutted her stuff at the London premiere for the flick, and I chat with Rachelle Lefevre and her Brit beau, actor Jamie King at the Spirit Awards.

It airs on CTV and STAR! and you can see it tomorrow at ctv.ca/entertainment.

e talking

I would define this as what I do on the show...

but urban dictionary has a different definition:

"refers to the expression of thoughts or feelings that you would not usually say, while being on e."

I didn't realize this was a somewhat frequently used term.

The Oscars!

I just saw "eTalk Picks the Winners" on CTV, which I was amongst the gang stating who we think will win Oscars tonight.

Starting after 9pm EST on CP24 in Toronto (or watch it online), I'll be chatting every half hour about the Oscars as they happen, and right here at the top right sidebar, I'll be twittering throughout!

And the Juno Nominees are...

This morning I am doing a live hit for CANADA AM (on the West Coast only) at approximately 7:36am PST. (Yes, approximately precise).

I will be pontificating on who may be nominated prior to Russell Peters announcing them LIVE on TV.

This had me wondering... how exactly are the nominees selected and the winners chosen.

Well, here's the answer to that.

And I was mildly disappointed that there is no longer a DORITOS' Fan Choice Award. It's PEPSI now. It's more amusing to visualize fans crunching on orange chips and getting that powder all over their cellphones and keyboards as they vote, instead of swilling cola and getting sticky sweetness everywhere.

Um. Right.
